Brett Levitzke
DVM, Chief Medical Officer
Brett earned his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Cornell University in 1994 and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. Following graduation, he completed a rotating internship in Emergency, Surgery, and Internal Medicine at Garden State Veterinary Specialists in Tinton Falls, NJ. He then advanced his passion for emergency medicine as Medical Director of Brooklyn Veterinary Emergency Services. Recognizing the need for a 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital, Brett founded the VERG Brooklyn in 2005. He has since served as Medical Director and emergency and critical care clinician. His clinical interests include trauma cases, particularly those involving vehicular accidents and high-rise injuries.
Outside of work, Brett enjoys cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, playing Texas Hold ’Em, and spending time with his wife, Nicole, their son, Jack, and their dogs, JJ and Rosie.
